courthouse lilocmulgee winship chamber

One hundred years ago, Scottish-Irish immigrants moved from Roberson County, North Carolina to South Georgia to settle in an area then known as Montgomery County, two miles from the Oconee River. The small settlement grew quickly, and soon a railroad steamed through the small town of Glenwood.

Formerly the Morrison settlement, established in 1889, Glenwood includes a hospital, nursing home, grocery store, telephone company, cable company, furniture/appliance store, drug store, doctor's office, restaurants, Internet cafe, antique store, bank, dollar store, city park, memorial park, alternative school, churches, florist, and more!
